Kent's Room: Mount KK trip 27/9/18- 2/10/18

Mount KK was always on the travel list but I just lazy to plan as it need to be booked one year ahead. Thanks to USM nu sheng Seah Shu Yen who organised this trip, we managed to challenged this South-east Asia highest peak...😂

The planning started one year ago during 24 August 2017, due to nu sheng Shu Yen jio dao, 7 of us join this trip without any hesitation and booked the Airsia flight ticket on 12/9/17, the total cost for 2 way was RM 254.96. The cost of hiking guide is RM 361 per person as we choose the 2 days 1 night itenerary.

Here is our itenerary for the whole trip in a summary.

27/9 arrive at kk
- set of for melangkap camp, Kota belud
- BBQ and camping overnight

28/9
Morning -flying fox at the camp site
After lunch - set off for kundasang
- war memorial park, kundasang
Overnight at kundasang guesthouse

29/9
6am set off for Kinabalu national park, registration
10am start climbing
4pm reach laban rata
Overnight

30/9
2am start climbing to summit
-descend
12pm reach laban rata, lunch, pack up, descend to Basecamp
4pm back to kundasang guesthouse house
Overnight at kundasang

1/10
Morning Desa dairy farm
Check out
-Head to kk
-lunch at tuaran
-Sunset at tanjung Aru beach
-dinner
- overnight at kk

2/10
- breakfast
- shop for souvenirs at Filipino market
- lunch
- airport

Day 1 Melangkap Camp, Kota Belud
We reach Kota Kinabalu airport around 2pm. Shu Yen have rent an Avanza for us which cost us RM167 per person for this 6 days 5 night trip.

We reach the campsite around 6 pm. In Sabah, the sky was dark already almost like 7pm in Semenanjung.

The campsite had all the BBQ equipment, we just need to prepare our food the can start BBQ already.

And of course Yan Ming ( the legendary KING SCOUT) will be the one who helped us building the fire and supervise our BBQ to make sure everything cooked well and prevent us lao sai the next day...
