Yogyakarta Trip 5D4N ( 30 March 2019 - 3 April 2019 ) ~~ Day 1

Yogyakarta, despite the official spelling, the name is usually pronounced and commonly written as Jogjakarta or just Jogja (JOG-jah). It is well known for its culture, nature and also its adventurous activity such as Gondola ride. We have booked the AirAsia ticket one year before with the price of RM 290 per person for two-way.

We reached Adisucipto International Airport around 11.15am.
Indonesia time zone is 1 hour earlier compared to Malaysia,
so don't be surprised if you reached one hour earlier just like we do...XD

I think this is the smallest airport I ever seen, just within few steps away from the plane to the arrival hall...lol

We bought a sim card 4 GB data for 130k IDR

Prambanan Temple
Prambanan temple is a Hindu temple built in the 9th century. It is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Part of the temple was damaged by the earthquake in 2006
There are 3 main temples dedicated to Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma.
The temple on the background was the Shiva temple.

My wife walked until backpain

The architectures of the temple were so nice regardless of which angle you snapped the picture from.

The weather was so hot until my wife headache.

Showing off our couple tee...lol.

We bought the Prambanan entry ticket together with the Borobudur temple under the combo price of 560k IDR per person excluding sunrise. If you wish to see the sunrise in Borobudur, the entrance ticket for Borobudur temple alone is 475k IDR excluding the Prambanan temple.

We chose this 3-star hotel named Emersia Malioboro Hotel. We chose this hotel as it is walking distance away from Malioboro street which was convenient for us to find food and buy souvenir.
The hotel room was quite clean and the staff there was very friendly and helpful.
Most important is that the price was very reasonable, which only cost RM 381 for a double-bed room for 4 nights stay. Unfortunately, the room was full when we arrived, hence the staff upgraded our room to double deluxe without extra charges.

We walked along the Malioboro Street to hunt for our dinner.

We bought the Nasi Gudeg and local Nasi Ayam Goreng as our dinner which cost us 61k IDR.
The taste was special and nice but just a little bit spicy and portion was rather small.
Moreover, the price also was a bit high compared to other place due to tourist spot.

Tips of the day
  1. We found out that the tour guide in the Prambanan temple just explained the mural inside the temple according to their imagination as we heard few versions of interpretation as we walked around the temple. So in my opinion, it's not worth to hire a guide to listen to their imagination ( It cost us 100k IDR....T.T )
  2. Don't eat dinner in Malioboro street unless you want to get chopped...XD

To be continued
The next day- Borobudur Temple, Chicken Church, Kalibiru Park.
